About Us

We are a small independant, family run business in the Northern Rivers area of NSW. Our hives reside full time on our small farm at the base of the Blackwall Range. At Ballina Honey we pride ourselves on our natural chemcial free product and processes.

Each year we have for sale Local, Pure, Raw Honey, completely gathered and bottled on site. We prefer to not use any heat or over filter during our processes to ensure the pollen, minerals and valuable enzymes remain in their natural state.

Heating up to 37°С causes loss of nearly 200 components, part of which are antibacterial. Heating up to 40°С destroys invertase, an important enzyme. Some producers use heat to aid in faster processing flow rates.

During the year our Honey Bees forage on the naturally available local nectars. This produces varietal changes, and changes in aroma and flavour from year to year. As our honey is derived from the nectar of many types of flowers it is called "Wildflower".
